This week in Meeting for Worship we will consider the fourth point in our Mission Statement: We strive to represent God to our community and the world, being his voice, his hands, and his heart. When we see a need, we will provide material, physical, and spiritual help.
As we prepare our hearts and minds for Meeting for Worship this Sunday please read Matthew 25:31-46 and Mark 6:30-44, and reflect on the words and actions of Jesus in light of our Mission Statement point on Sunday, and what it means to follow Jesus.
A couple of weeks ago we studied John 13:1-17 and were reminded of the Christ like approach and attitude to serving God, each other, and our community. This week we will consider the practical application of being a church that shares Christ with others through service.
Some questions for us to reflect on this week as we prepare our hearts and minds for our time of worship together are:
In what ways do we as individuals and as a church family represent God to our community and world?
What stories do we have to share about helping others, or being helped?
Do we prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to help us see needs and meet them?
What does it mean to be Jesus’ voice, hands, and heart to our community and world?
