Today is Wednesday, but on Sunday I had an idea about writing a post every Monday morning on the church web-page in an effort to connect with people after Meeting for Worship on Sunday. The expectation I have for myself and the writing of this blog is that the writing and posting will be completed on Monday mornings. Please be patient as I work out the kinks.
For the majority of my time here I was talking Fridays and Saturdays as my day off, and a few months ago I thought I transitioned to taking Mondays and Saturdays off just to see how I like it. I don’t. I found that I missed coming in on Monday mornings and I found that I missed having two days off back to back during the week like the majority of normal non-pastoral people do. This week I am glad I started working Mondays again because a great opportunity presented itself that I may have not taken advantage of otherwise.
The other night I had the opportunity to speak at Young Life and afterwards in a discussion with high school boys the truth came out that I work for the church on other days of the week that end in “y” besides Sunday. I am blessed and privileged to have this opportunity to serve all of you and our community as the released pastor of Homedale Friends Community Church. Thank you, and if you are interested in what I do during the week, give me a call or send me an e-mail or text and we will get together for a cup of coffee and a chat.
If I could leave you a nugget of truth this week to think about I would remind you to know that God desires a relationship with each of us and that in order for that relationship to grow and survive we need to remember to make God the sole content of our life each and every day.
