Monday Morning Blog Post …

I have been reflecting on our time together yesterday morning during Meeting for Worship and I continue to be in awe of how God chose to work among us and through us during our time together. Several words come to mind that might in some way describe our time together; obedience, participation, worship, vulnerable, willing, Spirit-led, ministry, prayer, quiet, reflection, sharing, peace, rest, hope, trust, and love. What a great thing to be a part of a faith community that cares so much about each other, and takes seriously being obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit and ministering to one another.

Saturday night as I was finishing up my preparation for Sunday morning I felt led to have a time of prayer after the music before sharing the message. While I was praying and while I was reading the Scripture passage I felt led to go an entirely different way than I had planned. As people shared and prayed I realized why I felt led to go a different way, because God wanted the message to come from Him through lots of people and not just me. I am thankful for those of you who responded obediently in your sharing, and I am blessed by what you shared.

This week we have the opportunity to interact with Scripture together during Holy Week. Many of you picked up a devotional booklet, but if you didn’t we will post the devotional information on a daily basis on the web-page and face book, and will send out an e-mail reminder. Some of us are going to spend time this week praying and fasting as we prepare to celebrate and remember the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior. If you would like to join in on that opportunity please let me know.

Here is the devotional information for today, Monday, March 25, 2013.
