Our Scripture reading for this Sunday is John 2:12-25. This Scripture passage tells the story of Jesus clearing the temple of people who were selling animals for sacrifice at a high price and exchanging money at higher than normal rates. As you read this Scripture passage in preparation for our time together on Sunday morning I want to encourage you to pay attention to Jesus’ words and actions while asking the Holy Spirit to teach you as you read.
As you prepare your hearts and minds for worship this week, I want to encourage each of you to be ready for whatever may come. Knowing that we will be missing some folks because of the holiday weekend, I thought this might be a good idea to try some things that have been on my mind and heart for some time. As you come I want to encourage you to be O.K. with things that might be a little different than normal and attempting some things that might be new to you. I also want to encourage you all to be willing to try and participate in our time of prayer, time of sharing, times of fellowship, time of creative worship, our time of learning, and anything else we may be led to do.
Like every Sunday morning we will gather this Sunday to worship Jesus expecting that the Holy Spirit will show up and move us to do just that in a mighty way.
