Pastor Luke Ankeny
After growing up in Homedale and being an active participant in Homedale Friends Community Church I moved away from Homedale when I graduated from high school in 1995. In the fall of 2011 I returned to Homedale, with my wife Heidi and our sons Samuel, Jacob, and Braden, to become the pastor at Homedale Friends Community Church.
Sensing a call to pastoral ministry when I was 17 years old, I studied Christian Ministry at George Fox University and Asbury University, before starting my career as a minister. I have served as a youth pastor, church planter, and pastor. Additionally, I have also had the opportunity to minister to others in the work place as the owner of a hot dog stand, as the owner of a mobile kettle corn business, and through a wide variety of other full-time and part-time jobs.
As a pastor I am passionate about journeying with others as they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to discover all that God has for them.
I specifically feel called to assist people in:
* understanding what it means to follow Jesus
* exploring what real community is all about
* worshiping God in all aspects of their life, including coming together for Corporate Worship
* using their gifts and talents to minister in and for the Kingdom of God
* reaching out to others
* training and raising the next generation
If you have any questions or would just like to talk please feel free to send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get together for a visit
Heidi and I have been married for 16 years and together we enjoy raising our three sons. For fun I enjoy being with my family, spending time with friends, running, walking, spending time outdoors, reading, writing, coaching basketball and track, gardening, raising chickens, playing games, and getting to know new friends.
