10.4.2016 ~ Sermon Notes
I apologize that the sermon did not get recorded this week.
In lieu of the audio recording I will share some notes to encourage you to think about what it means to reflect the light of Jesus.
As we are attached to the vine of Christ the light of Christ is in each of us and we are to reflect Jesus’ light to the world in which we live. Like a mirror reflects sunlight we are to reflect God’s light.
The Scripture we read during our time together: Matthew 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 (focus on verse 20), and 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 (focus on verse 18). We also read John 15 as a refresher.
We are to let our lights shine so that others may glorify God. We are to be God-bearers as we point others to glorifying God and a relationship with Jesus Christ.
As we journey with Jesus we are transformed in the image of Christ, and we are to reflect that image to the world.
When we consider being like Jesus I want to encourage you to read one of the Gospels … the accounts of Jesus life … as if you have never read about or heard about Jesus before, and really consider what it means to be like Jesus and to live your life like He did. What are we doing to know Jesus, so we can make sure to reflect Him?
Study Jesus … believe the truth of Jesus … be like Jesus
We have to make sure we know what we are reflecting.
